Notes Client 6.0.1 CF1 Windows 2000

I have a Notes domain, consisting of 3 servers, each server on a different location.
One of the users works on the office on Domino-serverB. He wants to work from home with his laptop. To do this, he has to call in to Domino-serverA (only this server has a modem attached). Calling method: call in directly to the Domino-server.
I copied his user-ID from his computer on the office and started configuring the notebook-client with this user-ID. When authenticating with Domino-serverA, I get the following error on his notebook: Server Error: The server's Domino Directory does not contain any cross certificates capable of authenticating you.
What is happening here?
There are no Organisational Units, only one Organisation-certificate. All users and servers exists below this certificate.
Domino-version: 6.01 with CF1.
